David Parham Hartness, 87, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Monday, December 8, 2025, at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville, N.C. He was born April 5, 1938, in Iredell County to the late Jeff Lee Hartness and Annie Fink Hartness. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Sue Mahaffey Hartness; his brothers, Howard Hartness and James Hartness; and his sister, Dorothy “Dot” Henderson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Chad David Hartness and Joel Lee Hartness, and granddaughters, Aubrey R. Hartness and Kendall D, Hartness.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements for Mr. Hartness are in the care of Troutman Funeral Home.
R.I.P., David. You will surely be missed. A good father, a grandfather and a good friend.
