The Harmony Volunteer Fire Department conducted a live burn training on Saturday morning at a donated home off Harmony Highway. Personnel from Yadkinville, Lone Hickory, Sheffield-Calahaln, County Line, Ebeneezer, Shepherds, Union Grove, Central and Cool Springs departments all participated in the training. Several training sessions were completed before the structure was deemed unsafe and allowed to burn under their supervision. Firefighters experience the extremely high temperatures, poor visibility and physical strain while fighting a fire. There were no injuries reported, and this training sharpened their skills and help them better serve their communities. Harmony VFD Chief Wesley Sloan was in command of the operation.
