Imogene Miller, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away after a life marked by hard work, perseverance, and deep love for her family.
She graduated from Ashe Central High School in 1957 and made her home in Statesville beginning in 1959, where she resided until 2022. Through the years, Statesville remained the place where she built her life, raised her family, and formed long lasting friendships.
Imogene dedicated much of her career to the textile industry, where she proudly served in management until her retirement. True to her strong work ethic, retirement only lasted six months before she returned to the workforce at Walmart, where she remained employed until 2021. Her determination, independence, and commitment to providing for her family were an inspiration to all who knew her.
In her free time, Imogene found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a true love for shopping, good food, and margaritas—enjoying laughter, good company, and making memories with those she loved most.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Miller and Lola Miller; her siblings, Gladys Jones, Louise Liles, Billy Miller, and June Miller; and her beloved son-in-law, Lane Jordan.
Left to cherish her memory are her surviving daughters, Teresa Jordan and Paige Tomlison (Jake); her grandchildren, Brooke McDaniels (Darrell), Zachary Price, and Stevi Price (Sallie); and her great-grandchildren, Gavin Price, Ava McDaniels, and Brayden McDaniels, who brought her immense joy. She is also remembered fondly by many extended family members and friends.
Imogene will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to her family, her tireless work ethic, and the quiet but powerful way she showed her love. Her legacy lives on through the generations she helped shape and the many lives she touched.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 12 until 12:30 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow beginning at 1 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Bill Troutman officiating.
