Troutman, Shepherds, and Mooresville fire and rescue personnel were alerted to a report of a garage fire on Kyle Lane about 4:50 a.m. Friday. Arriving units found a large, fully involved structure and a working fire was transmitted. The fire quickly went to a second alarm and Denver Fire Department’s boat was called to the scene, along with a call for increased staffing. The South Tanker Strike Team was put into operation with tankers coming from Cool Springs, Trinity, South Iredell, Monticello, Davidson, Ebeneezer and West Iredell fire departments. Multiple hose lines were put into operation and Denver’s Fire Boat put its master stream into operation. Fire fighters were able to rescue a cat from the raging fire. No injuries were reported, and the fire was placed under control at 7:11 a.m. The home was destroyed by the fire. The cause is under investigation.
