Piedmont HealthCare has announced the hiring of Tyler Yoder as director of Information Technology. He brings more than 15 years of experience in healthcare technology, electronic health record strategy, and enterprise IT leadership.

Born and raised in North Carolina, Yoder graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009. He spent the first eight years of his career traveling nationwide as a healthcare IT consultant, implementing electronic health records for some of the largest and most complex health systems in the country. During that time, he received multiple service awards recognizing his leadership, client satisfaction, and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
Yoder first joined Piedmont HealthCare in 2017 as a consultant and transitioned to a full-time role after the successful completion of the project. Since then, he has played a central role in shaping PHC’s technology ecosystem. As director of clinical applications, he led the organization’s EHR strategy and expanded the applications portfolio, supporting clinical operations, patient engagement, analytics, and operational efficiency to drive quality care across the organization.
In 2024, Yoder was nominated for the Statesville Chamber of Commerce Future 5 Award, highlighting both his professional impact and contributions to the local community.
“Tyler has a strong understanding of our technology needs and a proven ability to support our clinical teams with reliable, forward-thinking solutions,” said Jeffrey Smith, CEO of Piedmont HealthCare. “We are excited to see him lead our IT operations and help us continue investing in technology that supports high-quality patient care.”
Outside of work, Yoder enjoys spending time with his wife, their two children and their Boston Terrier, Conan. His interests also include tinkering with things in the garage, including the restoration of classic cars.
As director of Information Technology, Yoder will oversee all IT operations, cybersecurity, infrastructure, support services, application strategy, and technology innovation initiatives for Piedmont HealthCare. Yoder will step into the role at the end of the year upon the retirement of Chip Reklis.
