Special to IFN
Every child in foster care deserves not only safety and stability but also the chance to return home to a family that is ready and able to care for them.
Reunification is often the ultimate goal, but for many families, that process comes with real challenges. That’s where the Lonely Children’s Fund steps in. This fund provides critical support for children and families during one of the most sensitive times in their lives.
For children preparing to return home, it might mean helping with basic needs like clothing, beds, or personal items to make sure they have what they need to transition successfully. For parents, it can mean ensuring their home is ready and equipped to welcome their children back, easing financial strains so that love and nurturing can be the focus.
These funds can bridge the gap between “almost ready” and “ready.” Something as simple as a new mattress, school supplies, or transportation assistance can make a tremendous difference in whether reunification can happen smoothly and safely.
Each contribution to the Lonely Children’s Fund helps strengthen the connection between children and their families, giving them a true second chance to rebuild their lives together.
The Lonely Children’s Fund goal for the 2025-2026 holiday season is $30,000. We are hopeful that the community will overflow this fund with their donations, as these children deserve the very best. Every contribution, no matter the size, gives a young person in foster care the support they need to thrive.
