Samantha Persaud, lovingly known as “Sammy,” 39, of Mooresville, N.C., peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Born on March 14, 1986, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she was the loving daughter of Poorandeo Persaud and Parminder Laverde.
Samantha cherished every moment with her family, finding joy in the simple pleasures of togetherness. Her greatest pride and happiness were her beloved children, who were the center of her world. She also held a profound and enduring admiration for her grandparents, aunts, and uncles, whose love, wisdom, and guidance shaped her life in countless ways. Samantha will be remembered for her kindness, infectious laughter, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone she met, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Sammy is survived by her children, Aiden Sherrill, Alexis Rickett, and Myrone Rickett; her parents, Poorandeo Persaud and Parminder Laverde, together with their spouses, Melissa Friedman and Jorge Laverde; her sisters, Amanda Persaud, Mia-Sonia Friedman-Persaud, and Maia Friedman-Persaud; as well as loving grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Canada and the United Kingdom.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, followed by a memorial service in the Chapel at 11 a.m.
