The Mooresville Police Department on Wednesday announced an additional arrest in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred at Mazeppa Park on Tuesday evening.

Christopher Noe Flores, 17, of Statesville has been arrested following his release from the hospital, according to an MPD news release. He is charged as an adult with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

A total of eight people have now been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting, which police said occurred after two groups met at the park for the purpose of the sale of THC vape pens.

Mazeppa Park has reopened after being temporarily closed during the police investigation.
