Mitchell Claude “Pop” Pharr, 93 of Stony Point, N.C., passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Faith Assisted Living following an extended illness. Mitchell was born on March 21, 1932, in Iredell County to the late Claude Hopkins Pharr and Willie Bruce Pharr. He was of the Christian Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Randy Pharr and Dennis Pharr; two sisters, Lorene Crosen and Kay Inscoe; and three brothers, Johnny Pharr, Nick Pharr, and Blake Pharr.

Survivors include two sons, Harry L Pharr (Renae) and Claude Russell Pharr (Hollie), both of Stony Point; three sisters, Geraldine P. Adams, Betty Jean P. Hayes, and Linda P. McCall; six grandchildren, Mandy, Jody, Amber, Kimberly, Heath, and Logan; eleven great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one daughter-in-law, Mitzi Pharr; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who became like family over the years.

A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 6, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Pisgah Methodist Church. Rev. Jeff Carson will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. The family would like to thank Faith Assisted Living.
