James Elbert Harmon, 62, of Stony Point, N.C., passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. He was born on November 20, 1963, in Aurora, Ill., to the late Troy Allen Kessinger and Margaret Harmon Kessinger. James was of the Baptist faith and was a furniture worker during his career.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Holt Harmon of the home, and their three sons, Eddie Coleman and wife Stephanie of Texas, Scott Sinkhorn of Kentucky, James Hash of Kentucky, and three daughters, Jessica Phillips of Ohio, Ashley Johnson and husband Andrew of Hiddenite, N.C., and Leeanna Krapf and husband James of Kentucky.

James is also survived by six brothers, Larry Benge of Morganton, Richard Fuller and wife Martha of Kentucky, Ryan Fuller and wife Traci of Kentucky, Raymond Bowers and wife Hollie of Hiddenite, Rick Tidd and wife Stephanie of Kentucky, Marvin Tidd of Kentucky; and two sisters, Angela Lacey of Colorado, and Regina Fuller of Kentucky. His legacy proudly continues with nineteen grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted to honor James’s life will be held at Chapman Funeral Home on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 5 p.m. Brother Richard Fuller will be officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
