William Molloy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away on January 2, 2026.

He was born September 15, 1952, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to William J. Molloy and Dorothy Nelsen. He was a beloved husband to Eileen (née Marotta); a wonderful father to Jennifer (Thomas) and Brad (Arianna); a proud and devoted grandfather to Evan, Jonathan, Dylan, and Brayden; and beloved brother to Carol Cotrone, Doris Volovar, and Joanne Welutowicz.

Bill was a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years with the West Islip Fire Department in New York. He drove buses for the Metropolitan Suburban Bus Authority for 25 years. After retirement, he relocated to Mooresville, N.C., for the last 10 years. Here he enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandsons, outdoor activities, and caring for his dogs, Luna and Dixie.

Viewing and Services will be held at Cavin-Cook, 494 E Plaza Drive, Mooresville, NC 28115, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. Private cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to Piedmont Animal Rescue or Lake Norman Humane in Mooresville NC.
