The Iredell Arts Council, through its Full Bloom Film Festival Film Series, will present “Rent,” the revolutionary rock musical that captured the spirit of a generation, on Tuesday, January 13.
The viewing, which is set for 6 p.m., will be held at the Iredell Arts Council, located at 203 South Meeting Street in Statesville.
Set in 1990s New York City, “Rent” follows a group of young artists as they navigate friendship, love, creativity, and loss amid poverty and the AIDS crisis. With its energetic storytelling and unforgettable, sing-along-worthy songs, the film remains a powerful and deeply human portrait of resilience and community.
Celebrated for its groundbreaking portrayal of marginalized communities and its lasting cultural impact, “Rent” stands as a landmark in musical cinema that continues to resonate with audiences decades after its debut.
This screening is part of the Full Bloom Film Festival Film Series, which brings thought-provoking and culturally significant films to the community year-round.
