Tony William Perkins “Jr.,” 71, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House following a period of declining health. Born December 2, 1954, in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Arthur William “Buck” Perkins and Betty Frances Goodman Perkins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Luann Perkins.

Tony was a long-time self-employed painter. He enjoyed riding his scooter and being able to “get out and about.” He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Tony’s memory are his sister, Kay; brother, Joey; daughter, Cheryl; son, Wayne; grandchildren, Shay, Kayla, Justin, Tyler, Haley, and Courtney; great grandchildren, Varri, Antonio, Payton, Azijah, Veyah, Piper, Emery, Pei Pei, Bailey, Nova, Kaliyah, Kyrie, Milli, and Keion.

A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date.
