Shepherds Fire-Rescue hosted a water supply training exercise at the Pinnacle Boat Access Area on Monday. Tankers from Mooresville, Mount Mourne, Cool Springs, Troutman, Lake Norman and South Iredell fire departments all participated in the training. In some areas of the Iredell County, there are no fire hydrants available, and departments need the tankers to establish a water supply. This goal of the training was to have Troutman’s Engine have an uninterrupted supply of water flowing from its hose lines. All of the tankers filled up at a water supply set up by the Shepherds Engine company that drafted from Lake Norman and shuttled the water to drop tanks set up to hold water. The training was a success and all departments worked together. After this training was completed, multiple units responded to assist Troutman Fire Rescue at the scene of a working structure fire.
