Mrs. Doris Combs Gordon Cohen, 79, of Statesville, N.C.,  and formerly of Wilkes County, N.C.,  passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, N.C.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Boyce Cleary officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Doris was born May 13, 1946, in Wilkes County to Lemon Garfield (June) Combs Jr. and Virginia Harris Combs. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin. Doris enjoyed gardening, traveling, baking and she was very creative.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Combs Garwood and Donna Combs Staley; and a niece; Angie Hays.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Cohen of the home; two daughters; Becky Gordon of Wilkesboro and Jennifer Cohen Harlow of Vienna, Va.; two grandsons; Johnny Parouse and Christopher Parouse, both of Christianburg, Va.; and a great grandson, Camden Parouse.
