Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Arthur Lee Oxendale, 53, of Arborgate Loop, Statesville, in a news release.

ICSO deputies responded to Affordable Storage off Oakridge Farm Highway near Mooresville on January 11 after a customer discovered their storage unit had been broken into, Campbell said. Several personal items were reported missing, according to the news release.

Detective T. Henderson was assigned the investigation and obtained surveillance video from the storage facility, which showed a suspect vehicle.

That vehicle led Detective Henderson to a residence in Statesville, where the registered owner was contacted. From there, detectives located the suspect — along with several of the items reported stolen from the storage unit, the sheriff said.

Oxendale was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and felony possession of burglary tools. He was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was denied bond due to already being out on bond for previous charges.

According to the ICSO, the suspect’s criminal history includes the following charges: three counts of Felony Breaking and Entering, four counts of Misdemeanor Larceny, Misdemeanor Shoplifting, Misdemeanor Assault on a Female, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, Misdemeanor Second Degree Trespass, Felony Attempt Breaking and Entering, Misdemeanor False Report to Law Enforcement, Misdemeanor Failure to Appear on a Misdemeanor, Felony Possession of Stolen Goods, Felony Habitual Felon, Felony Possession of a Counterfeit Instrument, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia, Felony First Degree Kidnapping, and Multiple Counts of Driving while License Revoked.
