Harry “Bud” Brown, 79, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on January 15, 2026.

He was born July 20, 1946, in Utica, N.Y. The son of Harry and Marge Brown, he was raised and educated in Hamilton, N.Y., along with his sister, Arlene.

In 1968 he graduated with a Dual Science Degree from SUNY Brockport. He was a respected educator who taught for 34 years before he retired from the West Genesee School District in Syracuse, N.Y. He had strong connections and made a positive impact on countless students at West Genesee as both a middle school teacher and coach.

On January 25, 1969, Bud married Sylvia Billings. It was a union that lasted 56 years until his death. With a quick sense of humor and a passion for life, he found great pleasure with time spent with family and his many close friends. His hobbies were sports and classic cars.

Surviving are his wife Sylvia; son, Trent, and daughter-in law, Michelle in Mooresville, N.C., and son, Travis in Warners, N.Y. Bud also has five beloved grandchildren.

There will be a private service for the family in North Carolina.
