Wilma Wiggins Mangum of Mooresville, N.C., peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville.

She was born January 1, 1931 in Charlotte, N.C., daughter of the late Oliver and Nola Wiggins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank Mangum; and brother Oliver Wiggins Jr.

She and Frank were very involved in their church and over the years helped establish three new churches, East Baptist in Charlotte, and Peninsula Baptist and Trinity Baptist in Mooresville.

For most of her career Wilma worked in the trucking industry and held the office manager position at most of the companies she worked for. She enjoyed the lifelong friends she made in the industry.

She and Frank loved to go to the beach fishing and loved to travel. They went on trips overseas and many bus tours up and down the East Coast. She also loved spending time with her friends playing bingo, shopping and eating out.

Her family was most important to her as she showed that in the care she gave to her husband Frank the last few years of his life. She was also a caring and giving mother to Ronnie and cherished her only grandson Casey.

Her legacy will be cherished by her survivors, her son Ronnie Mangum and wife Melody; grandson Casey Mangum; brother Harry Lee Wiggins of Galax, Va.; sisters Reba Evans of China Grove, Pat Lay of Dallas, and Vickie Starnes of Concord and Sherry Clippard of Kings Mountain; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 20, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a service following at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Chaplain Eddie Karriker officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville.
