James Kevin Howard, known as “Jimmy” and “Cowboy,” 64, of Woodleaf, N.C., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 19, 2026. Jimmy was born January 21, 1961, in Mooresville, N.C., to the late Robert Webb Howard and Mary Ridge Howard.

Jimmy was a farmer by trade and a servant by heart. His faith in Jesus guided every part of his life. It shaped how he worked, how he loved, and how he showed up for others. He lived his life faithfully, in words and through the way he treated others. Whether through a helping hand, a listening ear, or steady encouragement, he reflected Christ’s love in the way he treated everyone he met. Jimmy loved his family and friends deeply.

Jimmy had a deep love for agriculture and began farming at a very young age. He grew up on a poultry and beef farm, worked on a dairy farm, raised hogs and then began growing grain crops. He was an active member of The Gideons, Iredell County Soil and Water Board, and Iredell County Farm Bureau, and he held many positions within the Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Daisy Howard; his children, Amy Sadowski, and husband Nick, and Branson Howard and wife Becca; his grandchildren, Robert Tovornik, Londyn Sadowski, Levi Sadowski, and Leah Howard; his sister Jane Moore and husband Bill, and their children Elizabeth, Amelia, and Jack, and his brother John Howard and wife Myra and their child Grace Howard.

A visitation will be held Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Centenary Global Methodist Church in Mt. Ulla, N.C. The memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County.
