Ernest Randolph Hosch, 51, of Iredell County, N.C., went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He suffered a heart attack on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

Randy was born March 10, 1974, in Winder, Ga., to David and Wanda Hosch. He also had three brothers, Dwayne, Kevin, and Phillip. He graduated from West Rowan High School in 1993. He and his brothers were known as the “wrestling brothers” in a 1992 article was written in the local newspaper featuring their accomplishments. After graduating, Randy joined the United States Marine Corps. He served at Camp Lejeune with many overseas tours.

He married his wife Monica Hallam in 1998. Randy and Monica have two sons, Mason Storm Chaffin and Logan Dayne Hosch. He and his family were very active serving the youth in their church. They are members at Beulah Baptist Church. He also coached both his boys in football and baseball. Many know him as Coach Randy, but one special little girl knows him as “Bop.” Aspen Chaffin, his only granddaughter, was the apple of his eye. Randy lived to serve his family. He loved to fish, kayak, cook and golf with his boys. He was known for taking care of everyone else before himself, and his legacy will live on forever through those that loved him.

He is survived by his wife Monica Hosch, his two sons Mason Chaffin and Logan Hosch, his granddaughter Aspen Chaffin, his two brothers, David Dwayne Hosch ( Salisbury) and Kevin Hosch (Salisbury), his nieces Elizabeth Peninger and Abby Goodman, his nephews, Christopher Hosch, Noah Goodman and Jeremy Goodman, his sister-in-law Wendy Goodman, his brother-in-law Dan Goodman, his father-in-law Bud Hallam (Kay Gregory) and mother-in-law Thresia Hallam.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ernest Rogers and Lillian Sessoms and James and Janette Hosch, his father David Hosch, his mother Wanda Hosch, his brother Phillip Hosch, and his sister-in-law Michelle Hosch.

Services for Randy will be held at Beulah Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m.

Flowers can be sent to Troutman Funeral Home, which is entrusted with the arrangements for Randy.
