Multiple agencies respond to scene of overturned fuel truck on Mocksville Highway (Photos)

Cool Springs Fire Department personnel, along with the Iredell County Rescue Squad, N.C. State Highway Patrol and Iredell County Sheriff’s Office were alerted for a report of a tanker truck rollover in the 2200 block of Mocksville Highway about 2: 56 p.m. Tuesday.

Arriving units found the tanker on its side and were informed by the driver that there was 1,800 gallons of fuel oil onboard. Fortunately, the dome lids held, preventing the fuel from leaking and causing an environmental hazard. No injuries were reported. Crews remained on the scene until the fuel could be offloaded and the truck could be uprighted.

Iredell County Emergency Management personnel also responded to the scene to assist.
