
Dorothy Godfrey Herb, 92, of Hiddenite, N.C., passed away at home after an extended illness on February 6, 2026. Dot was born on January 23, 1934, to the late Allie Byrd Godfrey and wife Eva Bruce Godfrey.
Dot was a member of Pisgah Methodist Church Hiddenite, a member of P.W.P, a member of Emerald Square, and a member of the Stony Point Chapter No. 593, Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as a Worthy Matron for two terms. She retired from Kewaunee and Statesville Auto Auction.
Dot was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Herb; her son, Jeff Lee Parker; her three brothers, Bruce Godfrey, John Godfrey, and Wilson Godfrey; and her five sisters, Lucille Godfrey, Wilma Hill, Mary Bradey, Maxine Pharr, and Ruth Alexander.
Dot is survived by her son, Shannon Herb, and wife Angie of the home; her daughter Donna Virtue of Minnesota; her eight loving grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and the Greens at Maple Leaf.
Funeral services will be conducted at Pisgah Methodist Church Hiddenite on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 2 p.m., with burial following in the church cemetery. Pastor Matt Harold will be officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 1 to 2 p.m.
