Jerome “Buster” Larosa Carson was born on November 16, 1953, in Statesville, N.C., to James “Jimmy” Holmes and Rosa Ann Carson. Buster attended grade school in Statesville and graduated from Statesville High School in 1973.

Buster was employed with Clarke Schwebel for many years. After his retirement, he worked as a consultant at Dana. He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and served as a Mason of Mount Carmel Lodge #37.

Buster leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Madison Carson of Florida; five sisters, Stephanie (Freddie) Gibson, Cynthia Holmes, and Barbara (David) Dobbins, all of Statesville, Adrian Miller of Huntersville, N.C., and Hazel (Dirriel) Kale of Claremont, N.C.; three brothers, Terry Lewis (Sharon) Carson, Michael Kip Woods, and Terry Roseboro, all of Statesville, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Dr. Tawana Feimster, Tonya (Xavier) Zsarmani, Alisa Sharpe, Letisha Florence, Myesha (Esau) Girley, Melissa Woods, Tan Roseboro, Shana Roseboro, Tongla Turner Burns, Tasha Baugess, Darius (Davion) Carson, Brandon (Chasisty) Sharp, Curtis Freeman, Jerrell Williams, David Maddox, Teric Maddox, Courtney Maddox, Quinton Roseboro, Demetrius Roseboro, James Holmes, Jasmin Holmes, Jeff Miller Jr., Maurice McDowell, Timothy Turner, Terry Lee Roseboro Jr., Tevin Roseboro, and Terrance Hamilton; a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; special family members William (Vernell) Waddell, the Morrison Family, the Davidson Family, Keith Holmes, and Cheryl Adam; the Drag Car Racing Family, co-workers, extended family, cousins, friends, caregiver Kathy Griffin, Reverend Bates, and the Calvary Presbyterian Church.

Buster passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, at the age of 72.

His parents preceded him in death, as well as his brothers, James Roseboro and Rodney Bennett; sisters, Vickie McDowell Miller, Phyliss Turner, and Melissa Roseboro; aunts, Annie Morrison, Mary Waddell, Catherine Nixon, Dorothy Carter, and Cynthia Carson; uncles, Tommy Carson and William Waddell; and nephew Wayne Satterfield.

Celebration of life services will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Christian Outreach of the Peidmont at 3 p.m. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3 p.m. at the church and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
