Iredell County health officials reported the county’s 20th death attributed to COVID-19 on Friday, marking the second consecutive day that a death was reported in the county.

The Health Department reported 34 new laboratory confirmed cases on Friday, increasing the number of positive tests in the county to 1,905. Among those:

♦ 441 people are isolating at home;
♦ 9 people are currently hospitalized;
♦ 1,435 people have recovered; and
♦ 20 people have died

Health officials continue to urge residents to wear face coverings, practice social distancing and wash their hands frequently.

According to the N.C. Department of Health & Human Services, there have been 132,812 confirmed cases across the state. Some 1,123 people are currently hospitalized in North Carolina, and 2,134 deaths in the state have been attributed to COVID-19.
