The Troutman Town Council has selected former Pittsboro, N.C., Town Manager Bryan Gruesbeck to fill the vacant town manager position.

Council members agreed to hire Gruesbeck during a closed session on Monday.

Gruesbeck has over 20 years of municipal government experience in North Carolina and Michigan. He served as town manager in Pittsboro for seven years before resigning in late January after being asked to consider stepping down by the town board.

Terms of Gruesbeck’s contract with the Town of Troutman have not been released.

Gruesbeck earned a B.S. in Political Science and a Masters in Public Administration from Central Michigan University. He is married to Beth and has two daughters, Anna and Chloe, who is a recent UNC graduate.

The new manager will succeed Justin Longino, who resigned in October of 2019.
