The Iredell County Board of Commissioners will conduct three public hearings on Tuesday related to proposed tax incentives for three economic development projects valued at more than $36 million.

Specifics of the projects have not been released by the county, but some information was made public in the meeting agenda packet:

Project 126 involves an economic development incentive up to $270,158 over a five-year period based on a $15 million investment in Iredell County. It is contingent upon a contract being executed within 180 days.

Project Buffalo involves an economic development incentive up to $241,166 over a five-year period based on a $12.2 million investment in Iredell County. It is contingent upon a contract being executed within 180 days.

Project Tampa involves an economic development incentive up to $145,811 over a five-year period based on a $9 million investment in Iredell County. It is contingent upon a contract being executed within 180 days.

The public hearings are scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday during the board’s meeting in the Iredell County Government Center, 200 S. Meeting Street, Statesville.

 OTHER BUSINESS

In other business, the board will:

♦ Consider a request from Emergency Management to appoint Brian Weatherman (Dominion Energy) as chairman of the Iredell County Local Emergency Planning Committee;

♦ Consider a request from Emergency Management to approve budget amendment #32 and accept an open trailer from Mecklenburg County as part of a Domestic Preparedness Region 7 project; and

♦ Consider a request from Administration for approval of a two-year contract with County Attorney Lisa Valdez.
