Some 168 golfers participated in the 14th annual Iredell Memorial Community Golf Classic at Statesville Country Club on May 15-16.
This year’s tournament raised more than $125,000. All proceeds from the event go toward educational programs for nurses at Iredell Health System.
“This tournament was made possible thanks to the generosity of our amazing sponsors and the dedication of our incredible volunteers,” said Kim Holland, Iredell Health Foundation Development coordinator. “The funds raised support the Institute of Nursing Excellence Fund, ensuring that we continue to make a positive impact on the quality of nursing care in our community. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event, once again, extremely successful.”
Over the past 14 years, the tournament has raised in excess of $2 million and provided education to more than 550 nurses.
Danielle Simmons, assistant Director of Iredell Health System’s Critical Care Unit, is just one of these education recipients. This year, Simmons attended the American Organization for Nurse Leadership’s annual conference, empowering her with tools to better serve her patients and staff.
“I am truly grateful to the Foundation for providing me with the opportunity to attend this conference,” said Simmons. “As a new nurse leader, the experience was incredibly inspiring and has motivated me to grow into the best leader I can be.”
A highlight of the event was Piedmont HealthCare Comprehensive Digestive Care Center’s Dr. Vivek Trivedi making a hole-in-one, sealing Thursday’s first-place win for his team, “The Digestive Dynamos.”
This year’s presenting sponsor was Crothall Healthcare. Additional sponsors, including Hamilton Point, HHS, and Rodger’s Builders helped make this event a smashing success.
