Residents of Fifth Street Ministries enjoyed a special performance by Betty’s School of Dance students on Saturday. The audience enjoyed selections from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite” while sipping on a warm cup of hot chocolate. 

“It was wonderful to have these talented students, their teachers, and their families visit Fifth Street, sharing this experience with us, Fifth Street Ministries Director of Philanthropy Todd Fowler said. “Nostalgia is a common sentiment during the holidays, and this beautiful performance induced many smiles, a few melancholy tears, and even the spontaneous dance-steps of one gentleman caught up in the moment as he found his seat.”

Natasha Marko and her students have been performing “The Nutcracker” for 15 years in Statesville, blessing families and friends with special memories and showcasing the hard work and discipline of many local dancers.
