Candidate filing for the 2026 elections began across North Carolina on Monday. Several incumbents were among the first candidates in Iredell County to file their paperwork and pay their filing fees.

Here’s the list of candidates who have filed for local and state offices in Iredell County so far:

Local Races

♦ Iredell County Board of Commissioners: Brent Goddard (R)
♦ Clerk of Superior Court: Jim Mixson (R)
♦ Register of Deeds: Renee Holland (R)
♦ Sheriff: Darren Campbell (R)
♦ I-SS Board of Education (District 1): William Howell (R)

State Races

♦ NC House (District 84): Jeff McNeely (R)
♦ NC House (District 89): Mitchell Setzer (R)
♦ NC House (District 95): Richard “Todd” Carver

The filing period ends at 12 noon on Friday, December 19. Primary elections are scheduled for March 3, 2026.
