Rep. Todd Carver has filed to run for re-election for his seat representing the 95th District in the N.C. House.

Rep. Todd Carver

“It is hard to believe it is already time for the filing to begin,” Carver, a Republican, said in his official announcement. “I was only sworn in 11 months ago and the time has passed very quickly.”

Carver touted his efforts to keep Iredell County residents informed about what is happening in Raleigh, including a regular newsletter that he said has been well received by his constituents.

“I get comments almost daily on how useful people have found the articles I submit are to helping people understand the outcomes of the legislature,” he explained. “Whether a person agrees with me or not, everyone gets a response from me.”

A former chairman of the Iredell-Statesville Schools Board of Education, director of the Public Safety program at Mitchell Community College and retired sheriff’s deputy, Carver said he is committed to serving with integrity and honesty.

“Everyone deserves to be represented by someone who tells the truth and believes in obeying the laws of the land,” he said. “I have been honest with people even when it wasn’t what they wanted to hear. Telling people the truth is not always easy, but it is something we all value.”

During his first year in office, Carver said he has advocated for investing in education, which he said is critical to workforce development. That investment, he said, will pay dividends in the form of new business recruitment.

Fighting for military veterans has also been an important part of his work in Raleigh, Carver added, pointing to legislation he has supported that property tax relief and tuition benefits to veterans.

“As a veteran, I have been proud to work on keeping our service members in North Carolina. We have one of the largest populations of U.S. military personnel in the country,” he said. “The legislature has taken several steps this year to keep those personnel in N.C. when they are discharged.”

Carver also touted his work on behalf of small business owners in his district, which includes his own children.

“I have always worked to reduce the regulations and restrictions on small business operators,” he said.

In recognition of this work, Carver was designated a “2025 Job Creator” by the NC Chamber of Commerce.

“There is more work to be done and would be honored to continue my career of service as the representative for the 95th N.C. House District,” he said. “Serving the people of Mooresville and Southern Iredell County is something I take personally.”
