Cool Springs Volunteer Fire Department personnel completed a live burn training for its members at a structure off Mocksville Highway on Monday, May 26. The home was donated to the fire department by the property owner to make way for a new home.

Under the direction of Chief Andy Webster, firefighters made multiple runs fighting different fires that were set in different rooms of the home until it was not safe to enter.

Firefighters monitored the structure as it was allowed to burn down. This type of training enables firefighters to get training on a real structure fire in a “somewhat controlled” environment.
