Sixteen candidates filed to run in the 2025 municipal elections in Iredell County on Monday, the first day of candidate filing.

Half of the candidates who filed are running in the Statesville city council and mayoral races. Troutman, Mooresville and Davidson races also attracted candidates. No one filed in the Mooresville Graded School District Board of Education races.

Candidate filing for the November 4 election ends at 12 noon on Friday, July 18. All of the races are non-partisan.

Here’s a rundown of candidate filings:

Davidson

♦ Mayor: Chris Carney
♦ At-Large Commissioner: Gary West
♦ Ward 3 Commissioner: Frank Owens, Tommy DeWeese
♦ Ward 4 Commissioner: Lisa Qualls

Statesville

♦ Mayor: William Morgan
♦ At-Large Council (2 seats): James Pressly, Trey Robertson, Braden Zittle, Frederick Foster
♦ Ward 2 Council: Kristina Madison Pfeufer
♦ Ward 3 Council: Doris Allison
♦ Ward 5 Council: Todd Lange

Troutman

♦ At-large Council (3 seats): George Harris, Tonya Reynolds Bartlett
