Iredell County Planning Board Chair Kristi Madison Pfeufer has announced her candidacy for the Ward 2 seat on the Statesville City Council.

“Our city is full of promise and it’s time to ensure that promise is shared by all,” she said in her official campaign announcement. “As a longtime resident of Statesville, I have seen firsthand both the challenges we face and the resilience of our community.
“I am running because I believe that local government should work for everyone—bringing real solutions to real problems: smart growth planning, affordable housing, safer streets, small business support, and transparent leadership,” she added.
A Realtor and manager at Doug Madison Realty, Madison Pfeufer pledged that her campaign would be about people — not politics.
“It’s about making our neighborhoods stronger, our economy more inclusive, and our government more accountable,” she explained. “I am committed to listening, learning, and leading with integrity.”
Pointing to her community service and work in real estate and planning, she promised to work for and with residents to “build a city that reflects our shared values and serves every resident—no matter their background, zip code, or income level.”
A 1988 graduate of North Iredell High School, Madison Pfeufer worked in the trucking industry and for an optician group in Statesville before joining her father’s agency, Century 21 Doug Madison Realty, as a sales associate in 1994. In a real estate career that now spans 30 years, she has been recognized as a top listing, selling and producing Realtor. In 2004, she was named Iredell County Realtor of the Year.
Madison Pfeufer’s civic and community service includes being a member of the Iredell County Planning Board from 2003 to present and chair since 2023; and chair of the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (2022). In 2012, she was honored as Ambassador of the Year by the Statesville Chamber.
She is married to Jude Pfeufer and resides in the Bellevue subdivision.
