As part of National Electrical Safety Month, EnergyUnited is highlighting recent safety achievements. From community outreach efforts to employee training, EnergyUnited is driven by the top core value of safety, which is the guiding value for the cooperative’s daily operations and strategic initiatives.

“At EnergyUnited, safety isn’t just a talking point – it’s a key part of who we are as an electric cooperative,” said Thomas Golden, chief executive officer of EnergyUnited. “I am proud of the work our employees do every day to protect themselves, each other and our members. At the end of the day, nothing is more important than ensuring everyone returns home to their families safely.”

EnergyUnited is continuing to strengthen its commitment to safety this month by launching its “Be Alert, Be Alive” initiative. The campaign is focused on increasing public awareness of important electrical safety practices. Through the campaign, EnergyUnited employees will focus on engaging the public in meaningful conversations about electrical safety and enhancing community outreach efforts.

One of the most significant recent safety milestones achieved was EnergyUnited’s successful RESAP accreditation. RESAP – the Rural Electric Safety Achievement Program – is a national safety program developed by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association that promotes continuous improvement in safety performance and culture. Cooperatives that participate are evaluated on their safety systems, workplace practices and commitment to safety.

These efforts underscore the cooperative’s mission of delivering safe, reliable, affordable and sustainable energy.
