West Iredell Fire Department personnel, along with the Stony Point, Troutman, Statesville, Hiddenite, Monticello and Central fire department crews, were dispatched to a report of a structure fire on Alpine Circle about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Upon arrival, West Iredell firefighters observed heavy fire coming from the single-story home, and a working fire was transmitted. Crews knocked some of the flames down from the outside, and had entered the structure when the roof came down.

No firefighters were injured. Personnel from multiple departments battled the fire, which caused significant damage to the home.

Iredell County EMS and Rescue Squad personnel also responded to the scene. Three adults and a child were displaced by the fire, and the American Red Cross was called to assist them.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Iredell County Fire Marshal’s Office.
