A Harmony man faces a felony charge in connection with the theft of an all-terrain vehicle following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Peyton Seth Shortridge, 26, of Cedarvale Drive, Harmony, in a news release Wednesday.
The Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation on June 24 after receiving a report that an ATV had been stolen from a residence in northern Iredell County, Campbell said. The case was assigned to Detective R. Vargas.
During the course of the investigation, Detective Vargas conducted multiple witness interviews and gathered evidence from the scene. Through investigative work, he identified Shortridge as a suspect and determined that Shortridge used a rental van to unlawfully remove the ATV from the victim’s property, according to the news release.
Deputies located and arrested Shortridge without incident on June 25. He was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was charged with felony larceny of a motor vehicle.
At the time of arrest, Shortridge was free on bond for other charges. Magistrate Watkins issued a $2,500 secured bond for the new charge, in addition to a $15,000 bond surrender for the prior case.
