Iredell County Register of Deeds Renee L. Holland officially filed to run for re-election during the candidate filing period, which ended Friday. No other candidates filed for this position.

Although unopposed, Holland plans to actively campaign to ensure she maintains the continued support and trust of the citizens as she seeks her second term in office.
Holland said she is committed to continuing the efficient management of vital records as well as all land records, while providing exceptional service, and ensuring transparency and accessibility in the Register of Deeds Office.
“I am honored to serve the people of Iredell County and am excited about the opportunity to continue my work,” Holland, a Republican, said in her campaign announcement. “Over the past three years, I’ve had the privilege to work alongside an amazing team of professionals and together our focus has been on improving processes, embracing technology, and making our office more responsive to the needs of the community.”
During her first-term, Holland said she has combined strong office leadership with active community engagement to introduce innovative services and programs that benefit the citizens throughout Iredell County and beyond.
Holland cited the following accomplishments during her first term:
• Becoming the first Register of Deeds in the State of North Carolina approved as a Wildlife Service Agent (WSA), providing residents with convenient access to purchasing their hunting and fishing licenses in the main office in Statesville and the satellite office in Mooresville.
• Organized and hosted the first Mini-Wedding Event in February 2025. In collaboration with the Chief Magistrate, the Register of Deeds office randomly selected seven couples and provided them with a very special and unique opportunity to celebrate their union.
• Organized the first Drive-Thru Hot Dog Lunch for Military Appreciation in May 2025. Holland hosted events in Statesville and Mooresville.
• Organized and hosted a Treats in the Street Halloween event for kids of all ages and their families to participate in a fun, friendly and safe environment the past three years.
• Organized and supported local initiatives such as school supply drives and canned food drives.
“I am proud of the progress made, both in serving the public and supporting my team,” said Holland. “It has been an honor to serve the citizens of Iredell County, and I look forward to continuing to serve with dedication and integrity. Thank you to the citizens of Iredell County for your continued support.”
