Troutman Fire & Rescue personnel, along with units from Monticello, West Iredell and Catawba fire departments, were dispatched for a structure fire on Buffalo Shoals Road about 5:08 a.m. Thursday.

Troutman Engine 3 was first on the scene, and firefighters reported heavy fire showing from the structure with one burn victim. Iredell County EMS and South Iredell Fire Departments Air Van were also dispatched to the scene.

The fire was declared under control in about 30 minutes, but crews remained on the scene overhauling and hitting hot spots for several hours. One person was treated for burns by Iredell County EMS, and the Red Cross was called to assist the displaced occupant

Buffalo Shoals Road has been closed in both directions for several hours while crews operate at the scene. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
