Following Monday’s Iredell-Statesville Schools Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Jeff James announced several new hires and roles for the 2025-2026 school year.

Cool Spring Elementary School

Marissa Holbrook, assistant principal at Third Creek Middle School, will be the new principal at Cool Spring Elementary School.

“It’s a true honor to join Cool Spring Elementary. I look forward to working alongside the dedicated staff, supportive families, and vibrant community,” Holbrook stated. “Together, we can continue to foster a welcoming and high-achieving school environment where every student can SOAR.”

Holbrook has served as a teacher assistant, teacher, and assistant principal at Scotts Elementary, West Iredell Middle, and Oakwood Middle schools. She has held a variety of leadership roles and is committed to high achievement for all students. She holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology, a graduate certificate in middle grades social studies, and a master’s degree in school administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Harmony Elementary School

Tammy Sharpe, assistant principal at Oakwood Middle School, will be the new principal at Harmony Elementary School.

“I am honored and excited to serve as the principal of Harmony Elementary School,” Sharpe shared. “It is a privilege to join a school with such a strong sense of community, dedicated staff, and enthusiastic students. I look forward to building strong relationships, supporting student success, and working together to continue the tradition of excellence at Harmony.”

Sharpe has served as a teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal in several schools in Newton-Conover, Catawba County, and Iredell-Statesville school districts. She was also a principal fellow with Alexander County Schools. She is a leader who is data-driven, collaborative, and strives for continual improvement. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Lenoir-Rhyne University and a master’s degree in school administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

● Aaron Richmond at Troutman Middle School; and
● Daniel Roseman at West Iredell High School
