Iredell-Statesville Schools Superintendent Jeff James announced the following personnel moves for the 2025-2026 school year after Monday’s Iredell-Statesville Schools Board of Education meeting:

♦ Andrew Mehall, principal at Cloverleaf Elementary School, will be the executive director of the Exceptional Children’s Department;

♦ Jennifer Dalton, principal at Cool Spring Elementary School, will be the principal at Cloverleaf Elementary School;

♦ Carrie Tulbert, principal at Oakwood Middle School, will be the principal at Lakeshore Elementary School;

♦ Christopher Grace, principal at Lakeshore Elementary School, will be the principal at Oakwood Middle School;

♦ Colleen Guerin, North Carolina Principal Fellow at Northview Academy, will be the principal at Northview Academy; and

♦ Jamie Caldwell, assistant principal at West Iredell High School, will be the principal at Scotts Elementary School.

Mehall, Dalton, Tulbert, Grace and Caldwell will begin their new positions on July 1. Guerin will assume her new role on June 16.

Exceptional Children’s Department
Andrew Mehall

Mehall has worked in Iredell-Statesville Schools since 2005 and has served as a principal, assistant principal, instructional facilitator, and teacher. He began at Monticello Elementary and has worked at Third Creek Elementary, Harmony Elementary, Union Grove Elementary, and Coddle Creek Elementary prior to his current position as the principal at Cloverleaf Elementary School. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania as well as a Master of Arts in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University.

Mehall said he is honored to serve in his new role.

“I am deeply passionate about student learning and committed to working collaboratively with parents, students, and school staff to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive,” he said. “My goal is to actively engage with each school and classroom, as well as with community and parent groups, to foster inclusive, supportive learning environments where all students can succeed.”

Cloverleaf Elementary School
Jennifer Dalton

Dalton currently serves as the principal at Cool Spring Elementary School. She began her career as a third-grade teacher at Monticello Elementary School. She has served as a teacher, reading and intervention specialist, school counselor, and assistant principal working at Celeste Henkel Elementary, Harmony Elementary, and Third Creek Elementary. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in Professional School Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership from Western Carolina University.

Dalton said she is eager to continue the positive culture at Cloverleaf.

“I am excited to embark on this next chapter,” Dalton shared. “I look forward to working alongside the staff, students, and families at Cloverleaf to continue the positive momentum already in place.”

Oakwood Middle School
Christopher Grace

Grace is currently the principal at Lakeshore Elementary School. He has served as a teacher and coach at a variety of schools in Illinois, South Carolina, and New York before joining the I-SS team. Grace has worked as an instructional facilitator at Shepherd Elementary School and an assistant principal at Mt. Mourne, Northview, and Brawley Middle Schools. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from West Virginia University, a Master of Science in Education from the University of New England, and an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership from Stony Brook University.

Grace said he is looking forward to continuing the great work at Oakwood.

“This new role is an exciting opportunity, and I’m committed to continuing the proud tradition of excellence at Oakwood Middle,” he stated.

Lakeshore Elementary School
Carrie Tulbert

Tulbert is currently the principal at Oakwood Middle School. She began her career as a teacher at Lakeshore Middle School and served as the AIG Director and Differentiation Coach for I-SS. Prior to rejoining I-SS, Tulbert served as an assistant principal and principal at Mooresville Middle School and the principal at Concord Middle International Baccalaureate World School. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Meredith College, a Master of Arts in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Wingate University.

Tulbert said she is excited to return to she school where she began her career.

“I am excited to return to the Lakeshore community where I began my career as an educator many years ago,” she said. “Lakeshore Elementary is a special community with a deep love for its children, and I’m honored to serve alongside such dedicated individuals.”

Northview Academy
Colleen Guerin

Guerin currently serves as a North Carolina Principal Fellow at Northview Academy. She has worked as a teacher, behavior specialist, and transition coordinator since 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education and a Master of Arts in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

She is looking forward to continuing her career at Northview Academy.

“Northview Academy is more than just where I work—it’s where I’ve learned to teach and where I’ve learned to lead,” explained Guerin. “My purpose has been shaped by the students I’ve taught and the
relationships I’ve built along the way. I am honored to now serve as principal in the very place that has inspired my passion for resilience and student success.”

Scotts Elementary School
Jamie Caldwell

Caldwell currently serves as one of the assistant principals at West Iredell High School. Throughout her time with I-SS, Caldwell served as a teacher, coach, and leader at East Iredell Elementary, Statesville Middle, and Celeste Henkel Elementary before joining the administrative team at West Iredell High in 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Arts in School Administration from Appalachian State University.

She is excited to continue serving the community that she calls home.

“I am honored and thrilled to have been named the principal of Scotts A+ Elementary School,” Caldwell said. “As someone deeply committed to the success of all students, I am excited to take on this new leadership role and begin building strong relationships with the families, students, and staff. Remaining in the West Iredell community —a place I am proud to call home for the past nine years—is truly a privilege.”
