Joshua Moore

Deputies responded to a 911 call on Ginger Lane, east of Mooresville, in reference to a person being stabbed about 3:30 a.m. Monday, according to an ICSO news release.

The female 911 caller told emergency communications personnel that a man she identified as Joshua Andrew Moore had forced his way into her home by breaking through the door, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The woman said Moore physically assaulted her, and she defended herself by grabbing a knife and stabbing him, according to the news release.

When the deputies arrived, they discovered Moore had left the scene. After gathering additional information, the deputies learned Moore was accompanied by a female identified as Jazmin Marie Webb.

ICSO investigators and crime scene investigators responded to the scene to continue the investigation.

Interviews were conducted with the homeowner and other witnesses. Deputies located Moore a short time later.

He had sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body, according to the ICSO.

Iredell County EMS personnel responded and transported Moore to a local medical facility to be treated for his stab wounds, which were determined to be non-life-threatening.

Crime Scene Investigators recovered evidence from the scene, including the knife used by the victim and video from security cameras.

As a result of the investigation and evidence recovered, it was determined Moore and Webb had forced their way into the victim’s home to assault the victim, according to the ICSO. During the physical altercation, Moore forcibly took the victim’s cell phone from her.

Based on the result of the investigation, investigators have obtained warrants charging Moore, 37, of Pondview Lane, Mooresville, with Felony First-Degree Burglary, Felony Larceny After Breaking and Entering, Felony Aid and Abet, and Misdemeanor Assault on a Female.

According to medical staff at the hospital, Moore left the facility before his treatment was completed.

Investigators also obtained warrants charging Webb, for Felony First-Degree Burglary, Felony Aid and Abet and Misdemeanor Simple Assault.
