Special to IFN
The Iredell Arts Council invites the community to immerse themselves in the vivid, other-worldly vision of self-taught painter Danny Malboeuf at a special exhibition on Wednesday, October 1, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the historic Old Jail gallery. Admission is free, and all are welcome.
Malboef’s work draws inspiration from surrealism, symbolism, and the Pre-Raphaelites, weaving strong lines and a striking sense of containment into every canvas. He describes his art as a carefully curated dystopia—“a wasteland preserved in formaldehyde, behind glass”—where even the most challenging themes can be contemplated with wonder.
Malboeuf offers a body of work that is as bold in concept as it is in execution.
Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artist, explore his evocative paintings, and enjoy light refreshments.
The Iredell Art Council is located at 203 S. Meeting Street in Statesville.
