The Iredell County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 10 held its annual Cops & Kids program at the Statesville Walmart on Thursday evening.

Sixty-two children were taken shopping this year thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Lodge and President Rodney James. Officers from the Statesville Police Department, along with FOP Lodge members, donated their time to assist the children, who shopped for new clothes and other needed items.

Once they were done shopping for clothes, the children and their parents went outside and chose from a large selection of toys that were donated by the membership of the Lodge and others. This program is near and dear to the Lodge and its membership to help make the holidays a little brighter for some families in Iredell County.
