Special to IFN

The Iredell County Public Library has received a service innovation award from the N.C. Public Library Director’s Association for its Book Box service, an engaging program created by Information Services librarian Amy Weber.

What began as a Leadership Institute project has grown into a full email-based advisory experience for adult readers. After submitting an online interest form, patrons are paired with a staff member who helps them find books that match their interests. After completing the process, readers can come to their preferred library branch to pick up their Book Box, filled with their chosen books already checked out, seasonal library treats, and a handwritten note.

The service allows staff and patrons to connect in a flexible way while offering adults an enjoyable and personal way to discover new reads.

Iredell County Public Library patrons interested in taking advantage of this service can find the online Book Box form at https://iredell-lib-nc.libwizard.com/f/bookbox.
