Iredell Health System has again been recognized in the 2025 Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America, an awards program created to honor people-first organizations that prioritize the wellbeing of their employee population.
Companies are recognized for their commitment to workplace wellness and exceptional health and benefits offerings. Increased flexibility, work-life balance, and mental health resources have proven to be common trends among Healthiest Employers honorees.
“Our Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America winners demonstrate an unwavering commitment to supporting the health, happiness, and performance of their employees,” said Haley Potoczek, program manager at Springbuk, a health intelligence company that powers the Healthiest Workplaces awards.
“This recognition celebrates organizations that go beyond programs and policies; they create cultures where employee wellbeing thrives.”
Each company included on the list participated in the Healthiest Employers application process.
The categories, scoring, and benchmarking were formed with the help of a national, non-biased group of representatives from the academic, medical, wellness, and business communities. The Healthiest Employers assessment is scored on a 1-100 scale. The assessment comprises six categories of yes/no, multiple choice, and short answer questions.
The six categories are Culture and Leadership Commitment; Foundational Components; Strategic Planning; Communications and Marketing; Programming and Interventions; and Reporting and Analytics.
To qualify for the national award, applicants are also scored based on an additional section called “the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America,” which scores the applicant essays and asks additional questions related to chronic conditions and workplace health.
Iredell Health System not only champions for the wellness of their patients but also invests in the wellbeing of its employees. The system offer an incentivized wellness program, Vitality, that encourages employees to participate in activities such as drinking more water, scheduling preventive care, and trying new recipes. Many employees also participate in a 5K each year through the Iredell Health Foundation with proceeds benefiting cancer care in the community.
