Rep. Jeff McNeely announced Wednesday that he plans to seek re-election to the N.C. House of Representatives, continuing his service to the citizens of District 84.

A lifelong Iredell County resident and small-business owner, McNeely currently serves as chairman of both the House Agriculture Committee and the House Transportation Committee.
“Representing the people of Iredell County has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” McNeely, a Republican, said in his campaign announcement. “While we have made strong progress in Raleigh, there is still a tremendous amount of work left to do—especially right here at home.”
McNeely touted his efforts to strengthen North Carolina’s agricultural industry, expand rural economic opportunities, and improve the transportation networks. As chair of Agriculture, he has promoted policies that protect family farms, support agribusiness growth, and ensure that North Carolina remains a national leader in food production. In his Transportation role, McNeely has pushed for practical, long-term infrastructure investments aimed at easing congestion, improving safety, and keeping the state economically competitive.
McNeely emphasized that Iredell County continues to face growing needs—from infrastructure expansion to supporting local industries and preparing for continued population growth. He noted that several major projects are underway, but many remain incomplete or in the planning stages.
“Iredell County is thriving, but we’re also at a critical moment,” McNeely said. “Our roads, our schools, our workforce, and our economic engine all need continued support. There are still projects unfinished, promises not yet met, and opportunities we must seize. I’m running for re-election because I want to keep fighting for the resources and results our community deserves.”

Jeffrey does not deserve to return to Raleigh. He has failed his primary responsibility to pass a budget.
Time to vote this clown out.

Sadly, the local representation of McNeely, Sawyer and Setzer have failed the citizens and the community at large. For a party of republicans, you all sure like big government and total control of state wide communities. All the power to decide what is allowable in a city, town, county is all controlled out of Raleigh. Why? Each of these elected officials are in the hands of the developers and all have taken large sums of money from developers. Why? All three of these elected officials are against “Home Rule”. Why? These elected officials need to be replaced by people who actually care what the citizens would like to see in their communities like holding developers responsible to contribute to infrastructure when they are developing a project.
Why does the Iredell Free News not hold these representatives accountable? Maybe an interview and ask them about what I have stated.
