Toni-Ann Lukacs

Lukacs brings experience in both education and childcare, as well as operational management and inclusive classroom leadership. She joins MGSD with a background spanning over a decade in early childhood and K-12 education settings. Most recently, she served as a classroom teacher for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District, where she was highly regarded for creating safe, organized, and inclusive environments and successfully differentiating lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Prior to her classroom role, Lukacs demonstrated strong administrative capabilities as the childcare director for Sunshine House Early Learning Academy. In that capacity, she was responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring state compliance, managing staff training and supervision, and handling essential functions like hiring, scheduling, and budgeting.

“Toni-Ann’s unique combination of instructional expertise and proven operational leadership makes her the ideal person to lead our BASP team,” MGSD Superintendent Jason Gardner said. “Her commitment to ensuring every student has a successful and thriving experience directly aligns with our mission.”

With a strong foundation in early childhood education, including receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Arizona Global Campus, Lukacs is dedicated to fostering strong partnerships with MGSD’s staff and families. This dedication extends to her volunteer work with the Kannapolis Youth Mentorship program and Kannapolis Youth Council, where she assists with the organization of community events such as clothes, coats and food pantries, as well as ensures families have adequate support throughout the year.
