Cyclists from across the region will descend on Downtown Mooresville on Sunday, September 7, for the third annual Mooresville Fondo, hosted by Top of the Lake Rotary.
The event features three scenic Gran Fondo-style routes:
♦ 75-mile ride – starts at 7:30 a.m.
♦ 50-mile ride – starts at 8 a.m.
♦ 25-mile ride – starts at 8:30 a.m.
The Mooresville Fondo raises funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Be Well Iredell and other Top of the Lake Rotary initiatives. The event’s dual charitable focus supports both suicide prevention and mental health resources in the Mooresville area and beyond.
While the Mooresville Fondo is a fun, family-friendly event that welcomes riders of all ages and abilities, for the safety of all riders and to meet insurance requirements, pull-behind trailers and “hike-a-bikes” will not be permitted at the start gate. All participants must be registered before joining the ride.
“The Mooresville Fondo is more than just a bike ride — it’s a way for our community to come together, support one another and make a real difference,” said Mindy Rice, president of Top of the Lake Rotary. “Whether you’re riding, volunteering or cheering from the sidelines, you’re part of something bigger.”
After crossing the finish line, riders and spectators can enjoy food, drinks and live music from TrueRiders in Downtown Mooresville. In 2024, the Mooresville Fondo grew by 48 percent, attracting more than 300 participants from across the Carolinas, Virginia and beyond.
Presenting sponsors include Mooresville Realty, Visit Mooresville, Edifice Construction and Randy Marion Automotive Group.
