A Mooresville man faces felony drug trafficking charges as the result of a Mooresville Police Department investigation.

The MPD announced the arrest of James Robert Gabriel Jr., 62, in a news release.

He was taken into custody on Thursday after members of the MPD Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at his home on Magnolia Street, police said. While searching the residence, detectives found and seized 30.7 grams of methamphetamine, along with seven grams of cocaine and $12,851 in cash, according to the news release.

Gabriel was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, sell, deliver or possess a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, and a misdemeanor drug offense.

Gabriel was being held in the Iredell County Detention Center in lieu of a $350,000 bond.
