A Mooresville man faces drug and weapons charges after being found unconscious on side side of Charlotte Highway early Thursday morning.

The MPD announced the arrest Tylor Scott Perry, 28, in a news release Friday.
About 3:41 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a location on Charlotte Highway in response to a call for a welfare check for a male on the side of the roadway, police said. Arriving officers found Perry on the shoulder of the roadway, according to the news release.
During the ensuing interaction with Perry, officers located a handgun concealed on Perry’s person and he was arrested. Officers subsequently found approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia, according to the news release.
Perry was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon, and misdemeanor drug offenses.
He was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he received no bond.
